Rear Admiral Marc S. Lederer

Rear Admiral Marc Lederer is a native of North Lauderdale, Florida. He is a 1991 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering. He holds a Master of Science in Human Resources from Troy University, a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, and is a graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College. He is a Joint Qualified Officer.

His initial sea duty assignment was aboard USS Nicholson (DD 982), where he served as Assistant Operations Officer and deployed as a part of Standing Naval Forces Atlantic. He then served as the Supporting Arms Coordinator with Commander, Amphibious Squadron Two aboard USS Guam (LPH 9) and deployed in support of Operation Assured Response off the coast of West Africa.

Lederer served as an instructor at Fleet Combat Training Center Atlantic prior to affiliating with the Navy Reserve in 1999. He then served with Navy Command Center 106 during Operation Enduring Freedom. Follow on staff assignments include U.S. Fleet Forces Command, U.S. Joint Forces Command, U.S. 6th Fleet in Naples, Italy, and Chief of Naval Operations for Operations, Plans and Strategy (N3N5). He deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq in support of Task Force Ramadi and the Department of State Embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team (ePRT) during Operation Iraqi Freedom and qualified as a Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Officer.

His command tours include Navy Reserve (NR) Commander Amphibious Group 2; Homeland Defense / Defense Support of Civil Authorities U.S. 2nd Fleet; U.S. Forces Korea Detachment 102; Military Sealift Command Headquarters; Mission Commander, USNS SPEARHEAD during her maiden deployment to the European and African theaters; Commander U.S. 6th Fleet Detachment 802; and Navy Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer (NEPLO) / Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) Program where his team supported extensive response efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

His previous flag assignments were Deputy Commander, Military Sealift Command; and Reserve Deputy Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. He most recently served as Acting Director, Installations (OPNAV N4I); Deputy Director, Installations (OPNAV N4IB); and is currently serving as Reserve Deputy, Installations and Logistics (OPNAV N4R).

His personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and various other personal, service, unit, and campaign awards.
