DoD CIO to Host Global Town Hall May 17

The Department of Defense Chief Information Officer will host a virtual Global Town Hall on Friday, May 17, 2019, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. EST.

The Department of Defense Chief Information Officer will host a virtual Global Town Hall Friday, May 17, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. EST.

The event will bring together information technology leaders across DoD to discuss plans for digital modernization and to recognize excellence throughout the enterprise. 

Topics will include: Digital Modernization Vison, Enterprise Cloud Strategy, Artificial Intelligence/Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, Command, Control and Communications, the Cyber Landscape and Information Technology Reform.

The Global Town Hall will culminate in a question-and-answer session with all participants.

Joining DoD CIO Dana Deasy will be Vice Adm. Matthew Kohler, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare and Deputy Department of the Navy CIO; U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Lori Reynolds, Deputy Commandant for Information and Deputy DON CIO – USMC; Vice Adm. Nancy Norton, Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency; and leaders from the Joint Staff, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force and offices of the DoD CIO.

DISA will broadcast the event from its headquarters auditorium in Fort Meade, Maryland.  Video teleconference sites at bases and locations around the globe will reach concentrations of CIO/IT professionals. VTC sites include Fort Meade; the Pentagon Library and Conference Center; NCTAMS LANT on Norfolk, Virginia; NCTAMS PAC in Hawaii; NCTS Far East in Yokosuka, Japan; NCTS Naples in Italy and NCTS San Diego.

Additionally, web-enabled viewing via DoD’s unclassified network will be available. Common Access Card login will be required, so participants will not be able to connect from personal machines at home.
