STYLE:
It's taking Navy stories and/or hot-button items Sailors do/should care about and making them into stories that Sailors (not Defense Hawks) would want to consume.
FORMAT:
The benchmark for stories (time, talent, & resources permitting) should be some combination of print, still and video, with the preference being all three; however, whatever format (multimedia, etc.) that tells the best story is the format we want.
GUIDELINES:
- Whatever doesn't put a Sailor, a command, or the Navy in a bad (read: disrespectful) light and is a good & relevant story.
- We don't have an SOP yet, so please exercise good judgment regarding decorum, OPSEC, et cetera (BL: Don't waste your time & make us kill your story).
- If you have the bandwidth, time, and resources, please email CHINFO/OI2 to setup an account with www.killertracks.com. OI2 can be emailed at navymedia@navy.mil
- Don't use copyrighted music.
- If you don’t have the bandwidth, time, and resources, then go to http://www.killertracks.com/ and contact our CHINFO liaison - we have a contract with them. We just need the title & track number (example: Adrenaline Junkies KOK2296).
- We need you to NOT ask us to download music from "big-name" commercial artists who are also sponsored by the site, because that costs "big-name" money.
- Keep the videos of cats swinging from ceiling fans to YouTube.
- Make a good story, and it will find a home.
TOPICS:
You’ll know better than anyone else what’s going on in your “backyard.” Tell the rest of the world.
