WASHINGTON (NNS) -- This week's overview of alleged sexual assaults is compiled based on 13 initial reports across the Navy from Dec. 30 - Jan. 5.
This time frame reflects only the receipt of the initial reports; four of these reported incidents occurred during this period. Every one of these reports will be fully investigated. Looking at this snapshot in time, we see the following:
Ten reports come from events that occurred on-base and three from events that occurred off-base.
Twelve of the alleged offenders were male and one was female. The vast majority were known to their alleged victims. One was E-7 or above, seven were petty officers, three were E-3 or below, one was a civilian, and one was unknown.
Within the reported incidents, 11 are alleged to be service member on service member.
Among the alleged victims, one was an officer, three were petty officers, eight were E-3 and below, and one was unknown. Of these reported, 10 were female and three were male.
