A Sailor assigned to Mobile Diving Salvage Company 11-7 enters the water to conduct a joint survey of the Thung Prong Pier with divers from the Royal Thai Navy during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2015. In its 21st year, CARAT is an annual, bilateral exercise series with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the armed forces of nine partner nations including, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Timor-Leste. Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) 9, assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, passes the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48). LCAC 9 offloaded the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit's (31st MEU) equipment from the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20). Green Bay and Ashland are assigned to the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group and are on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
