RPCM (FMF) Dino C. Medler
Senior Enlisted Leader to
Chief of Navy Chaplains and RP rating
Master Chief Dino C. Medler was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia but was raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina and calls North Carolina home. Upon graduating South Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina he enlisted in the Navy on August 19, 1986. He attended Recruit Training in San Diego, California, and Religious Program Specialist “A” School in Treasure Island, California. He reported to Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune in January 1987 where he attended Infantry Training School.
Upon successful completion, he was assigned to Second Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point, North Carolina and served with Marine Aircraft Group FOURTEEN and Marine Air Control Group TWENTY EIGHT. He reported next to Naval Station Charleston, South Carolina where he was assigned as Religious Ministries Leading Petty Officer and attended RP “F” School graduating as Honor Graduate. His next sea tour was onboard USS DALE (CG 19) where he completed a cruise to the Mediterranean. After only ten months onboard, the DALE decommissioned and he once again accepted orders to 2nd MAW Cherry Point. In August 1996 he accepted orders to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida where he established the Chaplain’s Office at Naval Air Technical Training Center, Pensacola which had relocated from Millington, Tennessee. In 1999 he moved to the West Coast accepting orders to First Marine Division Detachment, Twentynine Palms, California and was selected for Chief Petty Officer in 2000. He then served as Course Supervisor for the RP School in Meridian, Mississippi where he was both selected for Senior Chief and as the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Instructor of the Year. He found himself back at 2nd MAW Cherry Point for a third tour where he deployed to Al Asad, Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM as 2nd MAW (Forward) Command Master Chief. From that tour he served as RP Detailer in Millington, Tennessee where he was selected for Master Chief in 2011. He reported to the Navy Chief of Chaplain’s Office as Senior Enlisted Leader in May 2012.
Master Chief Medler is a graduate of the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (100) and U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (NRC 14). His personal decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 Awards), Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 Awards), and various service and campaign awards.
