Boxer is the flagship of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and is participating in Exercise Ssang Yong 16.   • Sailors and Marines assigned to amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit play with the students of Yan Chai Hospital Nina Lam Kindgarten and Child Care Centre during a cultural exchange event coordinated by Boxer's Relegious Ministries Department. The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit team are visiting Hong Kong during their first port visit since departing San Diego on deployment. While in port the Sailors and Marines have the opportunity to enjoy local culture and cuisine, attend organized tours, and participate in cultural exchanges and sporting events with local groups. (U.   • U.S. Sailor Capt. Keith Moore, Commodore of Boxer Amphibious Ready Group, runs with Cpl. James Rodgers, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, in a 5k run for women's history month, March 27, 2016, during the MEU's western pacific deployment aboard the USS Boxer. More then 4,500 Marines and Sailors from the Boxer ARG, 13th MEU team are currently transiting the Pacific Ocean toward the U.S. 5th fleet area of operations during a scheduled deployment.   • Sailors embarked aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) perform surgery on a patient in an operating room aboard the ship. Comfort is underway operating in the vicinity of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.   • Sailors aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) say a prayer for Sara Victoria Llull Rodriguiz, the first child born aboard Comfort in more than seven years. Comfort is underway operating in the vicinity of San Juan, Puerto Rico, to provide medical services with additional visits being planned around the island. The U.S. Health and Human Services and Puerto Rico Department of Health representatives are prioritizing patients at each stop prior to Comfort's arrival.   • Search and rescue swimmers Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Scott Stearns, from McKinney, Texas, and Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) 3rd Class Harrison Kruger, from Lugoff, S.C., both assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83), rescue a loggerhead sea turtle entangled on a semi-sunken fishing vessel. Howard is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations conducting maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, preserving freedom of navigation and maintaining the free flow of commerce. Sailors aboard amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) passed the Fleet Support Operations-Medical (FSO-M) 1.3 assessment with an overall score of 96, Sept. 22.
