SWRMC Divers Conduct Waterborne Repairs on USS Carl Vinson  (31 July 2012)
Divers from Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) Code 360 Dive Division began underwater maintenance on the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) at Naval Base Coronado (NBC) July 16.
SERMC Conducts Assessments, Repairs Aboard USS Robert G. Bradley  (7 August 2012)
The Navy's Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) located in Mayport, Fla. performed a Total Ship Readiness Assessment (TSRA) on USS Robert G. Bradley (FFG 49) in preparation for the ship's Inspection and Survey (INSURV) scheduled for July 30-Aug. 2.
SWRMC Improves Fuel Injector Overhauls with New Lapping Tool  (13 August 2012)
Southwest Regional Maintenance Center's (SWRMC) Governor and Injector shop has developed a new lapping tool to improve the quality and pace of overhauling PC2.5 fuel injectors which will be used for repairs on USS Comstock (LSD 54) Aug. 15.
SWRMC Overhauls Diesel Cylinder Heads for USS Whidbey Island  (28 August 2012)
Southwest Regional Maintenance Center's (SWRMC) Engine Shop completed its overhaul of 48 main propulsion diesel engine cylinder heads for USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) in Norfolk, Va., Aug. 14.
NSSA 2M Lab's Quick Fix Keeps USS Montpelier Operational  (14 September 2012)
Norfolk Ship Support Activity's (NSSA) Miniature/Micro-Miniature (2M) Electronic Repair Lab completed the restoration of two AN/WLR-8 (V) circuit cards essential to the Electronic Warfare (EW) System aboard USS Montpelier (SSN 765), Sept. 5.
NSSA's Towed Array Cables Supply Chain Strengthened  (18 September 2012)
Norfolk Ship Support Activity's (NSSA) Submarine Towed Array Branch identified a shortage of critical outboard cables used for submarine towed arrays and found an alternative source for the cables and will have cables ready as early as Sept. 30.
USS Ashland Successfully Completes Sea Trials after CNO Availability  (18 September 2012)
USS Ashland (LSD 48) successfully completed sea trials, Sept. 16 in Norfolk, Va., marking the end of its recent Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) maintenance availability.
NAVSEA and RMCs Partner to Complete USS Porter's Voyage Repairs; Return Ship to Homeport  (16 November 2012)
After its collision with a large Japanese-owned merchant vessel near the Strait of Hormuz, U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78) completed voyage repairs in Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates, and returned to Norfolk, Va., Nov. 4.

Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center (CNRMC) Rear Adm. Dave Gale directed the Regional Maintenance Center's (RMC's) engineering departments to better define the required technical capability and capacity to support vital fleet functions, Nov. 14.

Norfolk Ship Support Activity (NSSA) completed a gas turbine generator (GTG) change out on USS Gravely (DDG 107) Jan. 25.

NSSA Stands Up SCBA Shop  (22 February 2013)
Norfolk Ship Support Activity (NSSA) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony signifying the stand up of the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Shop Feb. 5 in Norfolk.
