Electronics Technician Named Pax River 2017 Bluejacket of the Year  (19 December 2017)
Electronics Technician 3rd Class Ashley Bolden, with Ground Electronics Maintenance (GEM) Division, was named NAS Patuxent River's 2017 Bluejacket of the Year, recognizing her determination to learn and adapt quickly after joining the military at a later age than most.
Hazardous Material Training Includes Simulated Response Exercise at Pax River  (3 January 2018)
Civilians and Sailors from Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Washington and Naval Air Station Patuxent River attended a hazardous material training course Dec. 11-15 that also included a simulated hazardous response exercise.

More than 44,000 people die by suicide each year in the United States, according to statistics provided by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Broken down further, that is someone every 12 minutes. And for every suicide completed, another 25 are attempted.

Preserving a piece of NAS Patuxent River's history, conservators removed a 12-by-20 mural of former astronauts and test pilots from Pax River's O-Club.
