The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52), right, conducts a replenishment-at-sea with the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Rappahannock (T-AO 204). Bunker Hill is underway as part of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group. Carl Vinson and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17, are on deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. TACTS towers were constructed in 1987 to provide aircrew training and performance evaluation in air-to-air combat but are now functionally obsolete.
