  • Sailors assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78) conduct flight operations with a Westland WG-13 Lynx helicopter assigned to the French navy frigate FS Montcalm (D 642) during exercise Dynamic Manta 2017. The annual multilateral Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) exercise is meant to develop interoperability and proficiency in anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare. Porter is forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.   • Master Chief Missile Technician Adrian Watkins, assigned to the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Nevada (SSBN 733), embraces his wife after the boat returned to Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor following a routine strategic deterrent patrol. Nevada is one of eight ballistic-missile submarines stationed at the base providing the most survivable leg of the strategic deterrence triad for the United States.   • The Emory S. Land-class submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) arrived at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
