Rear Adm. Kelly Aeschbach is a 1990 graduate of The George Washington University. She received her commission through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps and was designated a naval intelligence officer.
Aeschbach’s operational assignments included Patrol Squadron (VP) 6, with deployments to Adak, Alaska, and Okinawa, Japan; Amphibious Squadron 1, deploying to the Western Pacific and the Arabian Gulf; and Carrier Strike Group 9, taking part in Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2011, she was awarded the Vice Adm. Rufus L. Taylor Award for Leadership for her accomplishments during sustained combat operations with Carrier Strike Group 9.
Her ashore assignments were Joint Intelligence Center Pacific in Aiea, Hawaii; Tactical Training Group Pacific in San Diego; Naval Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee; U.S. Naval Forces Europe in London; U.S. Special Operations Command in Tampa, Florida; a military fellow at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in McLean, Virginia; the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations staff at the Pentagon; and Naval Information Forces in Suffolk, Virginia.
From 2013 to 2015, Aeschbach served as the commanding officer for Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic in Norfolk.
Aeschbach’s personal awards include the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal.
