Rear Adm. Hall holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine from the University of Cincinnati and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Xavier University, Cincinnati.
Hall’s naval career began at the Naval Recruit Command, Great Lakes, July 1971. After graduating from boot camp, he was assigned to the deck division aboard USS Leary (DD 879).
While onboard Leary, he became a corpsman striker and, in 1972, was transferred to the Hospital Corps School at Great Lakes Naval Station. Hall’s next duty station was Fleet Marine Forces School Command, Camp LeJeune, N.C. Upon graduating, he served as senior corpsman for various units including 3rd Battalion 8th Marines, 1st Battalion 6th Marines and Marine Aircraft Group 26. Hall was honorably discharged from active duty July 1975. Hall enlisted in the Navy Reserve in 1981 and received a direct commission as an ensign in the Medical Service Corps in 1982. He was stationed at the Naval Marine Corps Reserve Center, Cincinnati, until 1994. Hall served at the Naval Marine Corps Reserve Center in New Orleans. 1994-1998. He then served aboard reserve centers in Madison, Wisc., 1998-2000; Milwaukee, 2000-2002; Marietta, Ga., 2002-2004; Washington D.C., 2004-2006; Joint Reserve Base, Ft. Worth, Texas, 2006-2008; Norfolk, 2008-2010; and, Jacksonville, Fla., 2011-present.
Hall’s command experience includes: command officer (CO), Naval Hospital Pensacola Det. 1010; officer in charge (OIC) Fleet Hospital Minneapolis Det. M; OIC Fleet Hospital Minneapolis DET J; CO H&S Company 4th Dental Battalion (BN); CO Surgical Company Bravo 4th Medical BN; CO OHSU Dallas; deputy chief of Staff Navy Medicine East; deputy of Personnel Navy Expeditionary Medical Unit11- Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany; CO NR-Navy Medicine Education And Training Command.
Hall has had Navy Officer Billet Classifications specialty qualifications that include healthcare administrator as well as radiation health officer. He is authorized to wear the Fleet Marine Force Warfare Officer Device, Aircrew Device, Legion of Merit(two), Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense medal (three awards), Navy Reserve Medal (M and hour glass), Korean Defense Medal, Global War On Terrorism Medal, Military Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal, Expert Pistol and Rifle Medals.
