NEWPORT, R.I. (NNS) -- Center for Service Support (CSS,) on board Naval Station Newport, R.I., is hosting a virtual Human Performance Requirements Review (HPRR) for the School of Music, located on board Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Va., April 8-19.

HPPRs, conducted every 36 months, are designed to revalidate individual training requirements and/or identify new training requirements as they apply to a rating, grade, community, course, systems configuration, or fleet operating procedure.

These events provide stakeholders an opportunity to review existing training, identify redundant or unnecessary training, and ensure proper alignment of training based on new or revised requirements.

The event is being accomplished virtually through use of the Defense Connect Online (DCO) system. DCO allows maximum participation from all stakeholders without incurring the time and travel costs associated with a traditional face-to-face event.

CSS training specialists are working with the representatives from the School of Music, Navy Band Northeast and Navy Music Program to review the Sound Reinforcement Technician, Senior Musician, Unit Leader and Music Basic courses.

CSS and its seven learning sites provide Sailors with the knowledge and skills required to support the fleet's warfighting mission. Each year, the nearly 250 staff and faculty members of CSS deliver training to more than 10,000 personnel serving in the Navy's administration, logistics and media communities.
