MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (NNS) -- After 76 years, the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP)-produced Navy Supply Corps Newsletter will now be available online at http://scnewsltr.dodlive.mil. >
"The Supply Corps Newsletter has been our primary source of communication for our Supply Corps officers, our Supply Sailors, and our civilian workforce for many years," said Rear Adm. Mark Heinrich, Commander, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) and Chief of Supply Corps.
"In today's fast-paced environment, it's important that we embrace advanced technology and use it to its fullest potential to get our Supply story to wider audiences and to do it very fast," added Heinrich.
"Going online will enable everyone to access the magazine anytime, anywhere, and it will give the editorial staff the ability to post information on a weekly basis, release information in a much more timely fashion, and enhance the opportunity to better communicate the Navy Supply story, and the impact Navy Supply has worldwide," he added.
"Given the social environment we are in today, it is important that we make adjustments in how we release information," explained Janice Derk, Director, NAVSUP Office of Corporate Communications. "Going online means you can access the magazine anytime, anywhere; download now - read later; circulate the URL to friends, family and colleagues; and most importantly, tell us what you think by using 'feedback and comment' features."
Limited print versions of the Navy Supply Corps Newsletter will continue to be available to senior leadership, stakeholders, Supply Corps officers serving aboard ships, and paid subscribers.
