PATUXENT RIVER, Md. (NNS) -- Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) leadership named Danial Van Buskirk, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) logistics management specialist and current readiness database team lead, the monthly winner of the Outstanding Performance Award during an NAE Air Board video teleconference, June 10.
Van Buskirk received recognition for his efforts developing and managing 35 different databases required to capture and present critical readiness, maintenance and supply-related data and metrics information across all Naval Aviation aircraft communities. According to the letter of appreciation signed by Vice Adm. David Dunaway, commander, NAVAIR, Van Buskirk also contributed to enterprise efforts by analyzing units assigned to carrier air wings, developing deployed and non-deployed metrics, and answering numerous data calls.
"Your superb work was critical in ensuring that the most accurate and current data was always available to top NAE leadership," said Dunaway. "Your innovation and efforts have been responsible for elevating the process of metrics development and data analysis within the Current Readiness Cross Functional Team to the next level of enterprise behavior."
"It is wonderful to be recognized at this level," said Van Buskirk. "In light of the economic challenges we face now and in the future, the NAE's commitment to providing the right readiness at the right time and the right cost has never been more essential. I am very happy that I will be able to continue to support these efforts."
The NAE Air Board, composed of leaders partnering to pursue the best interests of Naval Aviation, recognizes one or more outstanding Sailors, Marines or civilian employees each month for their outstanding contributions to Naval Aviation's enterprise approach. Award winners serve as positive examples of the enterprise approach at work. Furthermore, it illustrates a commitment to the NAE tenets: process improvement, a willingness to challenge assumptions, effectiveness and efficiency, and a commitment to the greater good of Naval Aviation.
