WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Commander, Navy Installations (CNI) Rear Adm. Christopher Weaver, hosted the All-Navy Marathon team at Naval Station Anacostia in Washington, D.C., Oct. 29.
The team, which is now a part of CNI, was in town to compete in the annual Marine Corps Marathon, which was held Oct 31.
"It is great to have the All-Navy team as part of CNI, and I have always wanted to be a general manager of a sports team," said Weaver.
The team presented Weaver with a Navy Sports jacket and hat while he gave each member a command coin.
The All-Navy Team is comprised of five men and three women (including former Olympians) who are currently working full-time jobs for the Navy.
The men’s team is headlined by 1996 U.S. Olympian Lt. Cmdr. Ronnie Harris, who qualified third for the Atlanta Olympics; Lt. Tim Fahey; Aviation Machinist's Mate 1st Class Jeff Tomaszewski; Lt. Cmdr. Richard Hayes III and Cmdr. Loren Masouka.
The women are led by Lt. Cmdr. Sue Himes, the 2003 Marine Corps Marathon Women’s defending champion ; Lt. Cmdr. Kim Fagan, who finished third in the 2004 Armed Forces Cross Country Championship; Lt.j.g. Angela Karalekas and Lt. Cmdr. Patty Stewart-Galbrecht.
Head Coach Lt. Cmdr. Jim Felty and the Director of Navy Sports John Hickok escorted the team.
