WASHINGTON (NNS) -- In a podcast released Aug. 4, the chief of naval personnel discussed programs, policies and the way ahead for Navy personnel next year.
Vice Adm. Mark Ferguson highlighted his key focus areas to include rewarding performance and emphasizing learning and development.
"A top priority will remain performance. We will continue to reward our very best performers and adjust our incentives and benefits to keep those with the most critical skills in order to sustain a balanced force, in terms of seniority and experience, as we move forward to meet new requirements," said Ferguson.
Ferguson also talks about individual augmentee assignments and the shift of work from contractors to in-house government workers, which is expected to begin in 2010.
