VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (NNS) -- Military customers who want to order uniforms from the online Navy and Marine Corps Uniform Stores will now find a new and improved Web site.
Upgrades to the site's hardware and software systems have greatly improved the speed and response time for online customers purchasing uniform items.
"The new upgraded hardware and software gives customers faster response time and prevent them from losing connectivity to the site," said Cindy Church, retail systems director for the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM). "We also brought the customer verification process in-house to improve customer service and response time. I know our customers will see a big improvement when they log on our uniform stores."
While the systems were being upgraded, customers may have experienced some technical difficulties. However, with the completion of the upgrades, the Web site is now up and running smoothly.
"We apologize for any inconvenience our customers may have encountered," said Marian Nelson, NEXCOM's Uniform Support Center manager. "Now that the site is up and running, I encourage customers to use it to make their next uniform purchase. It's fast, easy and you can place your order without ever leaving home."
Navy and Marine Corps customers can order uniforms via the uniform stores at www.navy-nex.com. Most uniform orders will be delivered within 7-10 days. As an added benefit, you pay no shipping and handling charges unless you request express shipment and payment can be made using your Military Star card or other major credit card.
Uniforms can also be ordered toll-free 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the numbers listed below.
