WASHINGTON (NNS) -- The Navy Diversity Directorate and Commander, Naval Air Forces announced it will host the 13th semi-annual Fleet Diversity Council March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Naval Air Station North Island base theater.
The program aims to educate Sailors, officers and civilians on the value of leveraging diversity and inclusion to achieve mission success. Navy personnel from all ranks, rates, GS levels and backgrounds are encouraged to attend.
The day's events will include remarks from Rear Adm. Patrick Brady, commander, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, and will also feature a presentation from world-renowned diversity keynote speaker, Dr. Samuel Betances.
The council will also solicit feedback and recommendations from each attendee on past, current and future diversity initiatives. All feedback will be forwarded to the chief of naval operations and other senior Navy leadership.
