T-45 Crashes Near NAS Kingsville, Pilots Eject Safely

KINGSVILLE, Texas (NNS) -- At approximately 10:08 a.m. Nov. 2, a T-45 Goshawk, a two-seat training aircraft, assigned to Training Squadron 21 based out of Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas, crashed shortly after taking off from the naval air station while conducting routine flight training.

The two pilots ejected safely and were treated for minor injuries at the site and taken to the NAS Kingsville Branch Health Clinic for further evaluation.

NAS Kingsville fire and emergency rescue and security personnel responded to the crash site within minutes. The firefighters located the aircraft and extinguished the fire with foam. Security personnel have secured the crash site.

The names of the pilots are being withheld for privacy reasons. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
