LOS ANGELES (NNS) -- Recruiters assigned to Navy Recruiting District Los Angles attended the U.S. premiere of the movie "Battleship," May 10.

The summer blockbuster, directed by Peter Berg, is based on the Hasbro board game of the same name.

Nokia Theater at LA LIVE served as the backdrop for the star-studded event featuring appearances by Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, and pop music sensation Rihanna.

Aviation Electronics Technician 2nd Class (AW) Jonathon Hernandezsantos assigned to Navy Recruiting Station Palmdale, was complementary of the movie and how it will help him as a recruiter.

"The action sequences were awesome, said Hernandezsantos, the district's FY12 2nd Quarter's Junior Sailor of the Quarter. "I think is a great tool we can use in our recruiting jobs. When the movie was being recorded I was on RIMPAC with USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), so is easy for me to be able to let my applicants know about some of the things they see in the movie."

After the film, movie goers got a chance to meet and mingle with the films' stars during the after party.

"It's great to see these celebrities support our Sailors and support our Navy," said NRD Los Angeles' Commanding Officer Cmdr. Michelle D. Carter.

The film, shot during the 2009 Rim of the Pacific exercises, features Sailors coming to grips with an alien invasion force wreaking havoc on the Earth.
