LOS ANGELES (NNS) -- Recruiters and future Sailors assigned to Navy Recruiting District Los Angles attended a ceremony for disabled veterans May 14.

The ceremony, sponsored by the California Disabled Veteran's Alliance, featured Hollywood stars that either portrayed members of the military, or consider themselves friends of the military.

"Seeing these people up close was pretty cool," said Navy Counselor 1st Class Allan Ferraris. "There have been so many people here that are very supportive of the military and our disabled veterans."

Celebrities in attendance included Jon Voight, Louis Gossett Jr., Dennis Haysbert and Ken Davitian.

During the ceremony, future service members from each branch of the military were sworn into service before the supportive crowd.

The banquet, part of the CDVA's Keeping the Promise Expo, assists disabled veterans with job skills, networking and other assistance to help them become successful business owners.
