NASHVILLE, Tenn. (NNS) -- Capt. George Whitbred, commander, Navy Region Midwest Reserve Component Command, relieved Cmdr. Sheryl Tannahill, commanding officer of Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC) Nashville, Sept. 14 due to loss of confidence in Tannahill's ability to command.

The relief occurred in the course of an on-going investigation into a possible unduly familiar relationship at the NOSC.

Tannahill has been temporarily reassigned to the staff of Commander, Navy Region Midwest Reserve Component Command in Great Lakes, Il.

Lt. Cmdr. Joseph M. Seeburger, recently transferred from Strike Fighter Squadron 204 and who has already reported on board as Tannahill's scheduled relief, has assumed the duties of commanding officer.
