DoD Identifies Navy Casualty

WASHINGTON (NNS) -- The Department of Defense announced Nov. 3 the death of a Sailor who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew G. Kantor, 22, of Gillette, N.J., died Nov. 1, while supporting stability operations in Zabul, Afghanistan. Kantor was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit in Virginia Beach, Va.
