Two Navy Divers Die While Conducting Dive Operations

BALTIMORE (NNS) -- Two Sailors from Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 2 died while conducting diving operations in Maryland, Feb. 26.
One victim was declared deceased at the scene. A second victim was transported to a local medical facility where he was later pronounced dead.
The service members' next of kin have been notified however the names are being withheld for 24 hours in accordance with Navy policy.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group 2 is conducting an investigation into the deaths of the Sailors.
