Executive Officer of Patrol Squadron Four Reassigned Following Allegations of Misconduct

CORONADO, Calif. (NNS) -- Commander, Patrol Reconnaissance Wing Two, Capt. Christopher P. Ramsden, has reassigned the Executive Officer of the Hawaii-based Patrol Squadron Four (VP-4) due to an investigation into allegations of misconduct.

Cmdr. Jason Stapleton will return to Kaneohe Bay from deployment to Sigonella, Italy.

The squadron's previously identified prospective executive officer, Cmdr. Michael Brett Thompson, will take over as executive officer of VP-4.

Executive Officers are the second in command of a Navy aircraft squadron and have a great deal of responsibility for their unit, their assigned Sailors and their mission. The allegations against Cmdr. Stapleton are being investigated and appropriate action will be taken.
