SAN DIEGO (NNS) -- The Leap Frogs performed a double-header March 23, performing back-to-back shows at two local events to show thanks to the community for continuing to support the military.
The team jumped first at Boots On! San Diego, held at Harley-Davidson San Diego, a fundraising event to raise money for injured veterans, and then did a show at Cathedral Catholic High School's 2nd Annual Military Appreciation Night.
While the Leap Frogs weren't the main focus of either event, the team was a well-received addition for attendees who came to show their support for the military.
"We came here to support the fundraiser," said Tom Procopio of the all-veteran Men-of-War motorcycle club who attended Boots On! San Diego. "The Leap Frogs were just a bonus."
At Cathedral, the Frogs performed before the school's rugby match, then took to the stands to meet the crowd.
"This is really an important way for the people to see what the military does," said Glenn Irvine, head rugby coach at Cathedral. "Seeing the guys parachute in and getting to talk to them gave these people a really great opportunity to tell them how appreciative they are of the Navy."
Neither event is new to the Leap Frogs. The team jumped at Cathedral's inaugural Military Appreciation Day last year and have a long-running relationship with the Boot Campaign, sponsors of the Boots On! San Diego event.
The Leap Frogs perform aerial parachute demonstrations in support of Naval Special Warfare and Navy recruiting.
