SAN ANTONIO, Texas (NNS) -- Students from the Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC), located on board Joint Base San Antonio, participated in the annual Student Olympics, June 7.

Once a year, students from NTTC Lackland Master at Arms "A" School participate in Student Olympics that take place at the softball field and gymnasium. This year, seven classes of students competed in a drill team competition, also referred to as a chant off.

Some of the events included basketball, softball, volleyball, and flag football. The final event the tug of war competition was cancelled due to inclement weather.

"The Student Olympics were fun [and it brought our class together as a whole and I would love to do this again," said Seaman Recruit Jamari Moore, "A" school student.

Gunner's Mate Second Class Christina Lozano coordinated this year's Student Olympics.

"[the best part was] watching the students engage in the events with such enthusiasm and camaraderie," said Lozano. "Seeing them smile and enjoy themselves was extremely rewarding. I am glad that with the support of all my fellow staff members we were able to pull off a successful event."

NTTC Lackland is a component within the Center for Security Forces who provides specialized training to more than 28-thousand students each year and has 14 training locations across the U.S. and around the world.
