JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast awarded a $38.7 million contract to Walsh Federal LLC, Chicago, Ill., for construction of a replacement medical clinic at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., June 14.

The project will consist of a medical clinic featuring stepped up three-level configuration with two, two-story structures connected with three-story circulation corridors around an interior courtyard, an ambulance shelter and a telecommunication enclosure.

"We now need to capitalize on the momentum of awarding the contract as we move into the construction phase of the project," said McCarthy. "It was a great team effort by all the stakeholders to get this project award across the finish line."

Work for this project is expected to be completed by December 2016.
