SOMALIA (May 3, 2011) Members of a visit, board, search and seizure team from the guided-missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) apprehended 7 Somali pirates and released 15 Pakistani crew members off the coast of Somalia. The Pakistani master of the vessel claimed to have been pirated and used as a mother ship for more than six months. The boarding team found seven loaded AK47 assault rifles, two rocket-propelled grenade launchers, seven projectiles, and several ammunition canisters, ladders and grappling hooks.
