PACIFIC OCEAN (July 19, 2012) Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Brittany Payne, from Chicago, fires a M240 machine gun during a weapons qualification on the fantail of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Stennis is returning to its homeport of Bremerton, Wash., after conducting sustainment exercises off the coast of California.
