Atlantic Ocean (Sept. 15, 2001) -- An Air crewman aboard a Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Two Five (VAW-125) E-2C "Hawkeye" embarked on USS George Washington (CVN 73) tracks all air and surface contacts off the east coast of the United States. The Norfolk, Va.- based aircraft and squadron are participating in Operation Noble Eagle to provide additional air defense to New York City following the 11 Sept. terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.
