DA NANG, Vietnam (April 23, 2013) A child from Promise House watches Sailors assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) assemble a donated basketball goal during a community service event. Promise House is affiliated with the Street Children's Program of Da Nang. Sailors set up new donated sports equipment, practiced English and played games. Chung-Hoon and the Military Sealift Command rescue and salvage ship USNS Salvor (T ARS 52) are in Da Nang, Vietnam, for a naval exchange activity (NEA). The NEA provides opportunities for U.S. and Vietnamese naval professionals to share best practices and exchange maritime skills. Maritime skill exchanges between the two navies are non-combatant events, such as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, medical training, fire fighting and damage control, search and rescue, diving and salvage, sports and community service projects.
