SAN DIEGO (April 25, 2013) Sailors assigned to the aircraft intermediate maintenance department aboard USS Essex (LHD 2) rebuild a tow tractor as part of an overhaul of their gear during the ship's maintenance and dry-dock period. The tractor was completely disassembled, stripped down to bare metal to remove corrosion and damage and then repainted before being reassembled.
