INDIAN OCEAN (May 26, 2013) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician 2nd Class Shane Villarrea, assigned to EOD Mobile Unit 11 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) is hoisted into an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 6 after setting a charge on a "mine" during a mine pounce training operation. Nimitz Strike Group is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
