DAKAR, Senegal (Nov. 07, 2007) Seaman Travis Byers, center, plays with some of the children at Ahmmadou Mbacke, a secondary school in Dakar, Senegal. Seaman Byers along with other Sailors assigned to the dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43) visited the school during a voluntary community relations project to perform interior repairs, Nov. 7. Fort McHenry is participating in Africa Partnership Station (APS), designed to bring international training teams to Senegal, Liberia, Ghana, Cameroon, Gabon, and Sao Tome and Principe, and will support more than 20 humanitarian assistance projects in addition to hosting information exchanges and training with partner nations during its seven-month deployment.
