CARIBBEAN SEA Sept. 21, 2017

A GOES satellite image of Hurricane Maria in the Caribbean Sea taken at 9:15 a.m. EST. The storm is a Category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale. Maria is expected to pass near the Dominican Republic through Thursday and approach the Turks and Caicos and southeast Bahamas Thursday night.
