Navy Mentors Get Middle School Students Excited about STEM and Internship Programs
KING GEORGE. Va. (
(June 29, 2017) - Middle school students fire water rockets they built with fuel load to maximize height at the 2017 Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division sponsored STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Summer Academy, held June 26-30. Camp activities also included ten robotic challenges; exploring epidemiology; building and destructively testing a tower from balsa wood; predicting the number of each color of M&Ms in a large bag; and building a boat out of foil and straws with the aim of maximizing its cargo carrying capacity.
