ACC Aboard CVN 73  

960130-N-2302H-002 Aircontrolman 3rd Class Scott Ballard of Houston, Texas, works as Approach Controller in the Carrier Air Traffic Control Center (CATCC) onboard USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) on January 29, 1996. His responsibilities include ensuring the safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic operating in the vicinity of the ship. USS George Washington (CVN 73), commanded by CAPT Malcolm P. Branch, departed its home port of Norfolk, Virginia, on January 26 for a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Ocean.
