100823-N-7605J-151 SAN DIEGO (Aug. 23, 2010) Inspectors from the Navy's Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) discuss the process of counting float coats during an INSURV inspection aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The inspectors examined 6,018 float coats and life jackets. INSURV is a congressionally mandated inspection that examines the material condition and battle readiness of a naval vessel to determine if the ship is capable of carrying out the mission for which it was designed.
