America's Sailors:

For 241 Years - Tough, Bold and Ready

George Washington, John Barry, John Paul Jones and Benjamin Franklin are among those considered as the Fathers of the U.S Navy.

And since October 13, 1775, when the Continental Congress formed the United States Navy, Sailors have continued to be the forefront of excellence at-sea and ashore.

They have deployed to more than 130 nations across the globe; from the coast of Normandy; to the shrublands of Africa; to the mountains of Afghanistan and to the glaciers of the Antarctic.

They have sailed through the blue waters of the Pacific, the unforgiving Atlantic and the warmth of the Indian Ocean. They have been favored, challenged, threatened and defined.

America's Sailors, for 241 years, have proven to be Tough, Bold and Ready.
