WASHINGTON (NNS) -- This month's overview of alleged sexual assaults is compiled based on 92 initial reports across the Navy from April 1-30. This timeframe reflects only the receipt of the initial reports; twenty-six of the reported incidents occurred during this period, 24 of the reported incidents occurred outside of the report period and 42 occurred at an unknown time. Each report will be fully investigated. Looking at this snapshot in time, we see the following:
* Twenty reports are from events that occurred on-base, 21 are from events that occurred off-base and 51 events occurred at unknown locations.
* Among the 93 alleged offenders, four are officers, one is a midshipman, three are chief petty officers, eight are petty officers, five are E-3 and below, and 72 are unknown. Twenty-two of the alleged offenders are male and 71 are unknown.
* Twenty-one of the reported incidents were alleged to be service member on service member, one was service member on non-service member and 71 were unknown.
* Among the 92 alleged victims, four were officers, one was a midshipman, one is a chief petty officer, 29 are petty officers, 35 are E-3 and below, 8 are civilians and 14 are unknown. Sixty-seven of the alleged victims are female, 14 are male and 11 are unknown.
