WASHINGTON (NNS) -- This month's overview of alleged sexual assaults is compiled based on 101 initial reports across the Navy from May 1-31. This timeframe reflects only the receipt of the initial reports; twenty-three of the reported incidents occurred during this period, 30 of the reported incidents occurred outside of the report period and 48 occurred at an unknown time. Each report will be fully investigated. Looking at this snapshot in time, we see the following:
* Twenty-five reports are from events that occurred on-base, 19 are from events that occurred off-base and 57 events occurred at unknown locations.
* Among the 102 alleged offenders, two are officers, two are chief petty officers, 11 are petty officers, 10 are E-3 and below, two are civilians and 75 are unknown. Twenty-eight of the alleged offenders are male, one is female and 73 are unknown.
* Nineteen of the reported incidents were alleged to be service member on service member, two were non-service member on service member, one was service member on non-service member and 80 were unknown.
* Among the 101 alleged victims, five were officers, 23 are petty officers, 45 are E-3 and below, 12 are civilians and 16 are unknown. Seventy-three of the alleged victims are female, 13 are male and 15 are unknown.
