WASHINGTON (NNS) -- This month's overview of alleged sexual assaults is compiled based on 87 initial reports across the Navy from November 1-30. This timeframe reflects only the receipt of the initial reports; 17 of the reported incidents occurred during this period, 22 of the reported incidents occurred outside of the report period and 48 occurred at an unknown time. Each report will be fully investigated. Looking at this snapshot in time, we see the following:
- Twenty reports are from events that occurred on-base, 17 are from events that occurred off-base and 50 events occurred at unknown locations.
- Among the 87 alleged offenders, zero are officers, one is a chief petty officer, 14 are petty officers, six are E-3 and below, zero are civilians and 66 are unknown. Nineteen of the alleged offenders are male, two are female and 66 are unknown.
- Nineteen of the reported incidents were alleged to be service member on service member, zero were non-service member on service member, zero were service member on non-service member and 68 were unknown.
- Among the 87 alleged victims, one was an officer, 27 are petty officers, 37 are E-3 and below, zero are civilians and 20 are unknown. Sixty-one of the alleged victims are female, 12 are male and 14 are unknown.
