Todd Flannery, Commander, Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Atlantic (HSCWL), addresses the public regarding the results of the Judge Advocate General Manual (JAGMAN) investigation in to the crash of an MH-53E off the coast of Virginia January 8, that resulted in the death of three Sailors.   • A visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) team from the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Mitscher (DDG 57) approaches the Descubierta-class corvette ENS El Suez (F-946) for a VBSS training scenario during a passing exercise. Mitscher, homeported at Naval Station Norfolk, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.   • Sailors assigned to Navy Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1, Detachment Guam, apply metal roofing sheets while reconstructing a roof for a home affected by Typhoon Mangkhut. NMCB-1, Detachment Guam, assigned to Commander, Task Force 75, is correlating with the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the Commonwealth Advocates for Recovery Efforts, CNMI and the Federal Emergency Management Agency in rebuilding roofs for homes during disaster relief operations in Rota, Tinian and Saipan after Typhoon Mangkhut hit in early September.
