  • The Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Detroit (LCS 7) conducts high-speed operations while traveling at speeds of more than 40 knots. During this deployment to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility, Detroit, with embarked helicopter and U.S. Coast Guard law enforcement detachment, will support Joint Interagency Task Force South's mission, which includes counter-drug patrols and detection and monitoring of illicit traffic in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific.   • Equipment Operator Constructionman James Caouette, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, Detail Pohnpei, takes a selfie with students from Pehleng Elementary School during the opening ceremony for the school's renovations.
