The Radiation Oncology Division at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth debuted a new linear accelerator during an open house Jan. 25, holding a ribbon cutting for the $4.5-million machine that is revolutionary in the way it treats cancerous and benign tumors.
The Healthcare Simulation and Bioskills Training Center (HSBTC) at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) announced, Feb. 8, that they were reaccredited by the American College of Surgeons for five years.
Several of Naval Medical Center Portsmouth's (NMCP) certified nurses hosted a Certified Nurses Day event on March 19. Certified Nurses Day honors nurses worldwide who earn and maintain the highest credential in their specialty, contributing to better patient outcomes.
NMCP's art therapy program caught the attention of Karen Pence, Second Lady of the United States of America. Pence visited NMCP on April 24 to view artwork made by patients and visit with a selected few who were actively creating artistic masks.
