  • Sailors assigned to the aircraft carrier  USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) air department prepare to move an F/A-18F Super Hornet, assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 23, from an aircraft elevator to the hangar bay.   • Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Philip Warren stands watch as the helmsman during a Strait of Hormuz transit aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64), Jan. 23, 2020. Carney is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.   • Machinery Repairman 3rd Class Eric Million, from Muskogee, Oklahoma, operates a metal lathe in the machine shop of U.S. 7th Fleet Flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). Metal lathes are used to make precision mechanical parts needed to keep Blue Ridge equipment operational at all times.
