  • Marines and sailors with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command, and sailors with USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) disembark gear and vehicles on to Landing Craft Utility that will transport everything to Puerto Castilla, Honduras. The SPMAGTF-SC is composed of approximately 300 Marines and sailors from 42 different units across 20 states, the majority of which are from Marine Forces Reserve. During their deployment, SPMAGTF-SC Marines and sailors will work and train alongside their counterparts in Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Belize and be on standby to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in case of a major disaster. The ARG, consisting of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41), the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) and the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio (LPD 17), is deployed in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operation.   • The guided-missile destroyer USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109) fires its Mark 45 5-inch gun as part of a live-fire demonstration for visiting Brig. Gen. Matthew Trollinger, commander of Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, during a shipboard visit to discuss Navy and Marine Corps interoperability. Jason Dunham is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
